Toni and Tina, stories to manage children's emotions

The emotional education of our children is very important, we need to talk a lot with them, and stories are also a good tool for dealing with emotions. Toni y Tina is a collection of children's stories to work on the management of emotions with children.

This is a series of Castellnou Infantil Juvenil in collaboration with the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu. The protagonists are Toni and Tina, two very friendly bunnies that, from the adventures they live, help the child to recognize, understand, express and positively manage emotions.

At the moment there are two books published, in Catalan and Spanish, about the emotions of fear and frustration: "A storm of ... fear" and "What a game rage". They are intended for children from two years of age, and between the stories are questions addressed to the children as we read the story. In this way they are encouraged to talk about those feelings.

As an added value to the story we must highlight the guide aimed at family and educators that broadens concepts about emotion in particular. It also offers activities to have a good time and continue helping the child to manage their emotions.

We hope to discover the next titles in the collection, which will also address positive emotions. The treatment of these has been reviewed and supervised by professionals of psychology and emotional education of the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu and the University of Barcelona. The author is Meritxell Martí, with illustrations by Xavier Salomó.

The collection of stories "Toni and Tina" are one more way to guarantee the emotional well-being of our children, based on the simple basis of talking about them through some characters with whom the little ones identify.
