Collecting treasures in nature with children

A few weeks ago we taught you to make a photo frame with leaves and flowers collected from nature. Today we bring you another idea to spend time with children in nature: the treasure box game.

We could say that this is a "heruistic game", an activity, where children interact with the different types of materials they find and explore them. Children discover through the senses the characteristics of the objects they manipulate, thus making new learning.

Depending on the age of the child, he will do one thing or another with what he discovers, babies wonder what those objects can be and older children will try to figure out what they can do with them.

We can help them with the game by collecting small treasures that we find in nature, from stones to wooden sticks, sometimes we can find even a real treasure, who knows, my son the other day found a ring (it was jewelry) but for him it is the treasure of a pirate who had been hidden at the bottom of the sea for centuries.

What do we need

An empty plastic container Lid with handle Cardboard and marker Pen Time to enjoy with your children

You simply have to make drawings on the cardboard simulating the treasures that you are going to find in the forest, you can put your child's name, for example: "Mateo's Treasure Box". You can paste the cardboard with washi tape to give a more artistic and current touch to the container.

Now we just have to go out to nature and look at the ground, we will discover thousands of precious things: pineapples, berries, seeds, leaves, branches, flowers, € 500 bills ... who knows!
