UNAWE, do we explore the universe with children?

As a child I was fascinated by the observation of the sky, and I can still have a good time watching the stars and the moon. Many children enjoy looking at the sky and knowing more about the universe, and for them the website of UNAWE, "Explore the Universe", is a great source of learning and fun.

UNAWE was born in 2005 so that children from four to ten years old from any country and condition have a first contact with the universe that is very special for them. In this way children become aware that they are part of the universe and that they have a whole world to explore.

On the web we have varied sections, such as riddles, animations, games, stories and poems, simulations, videos ... Always with the universe as a source of discoveries at all levels.

The activities are divided into observation, elaboration of instruments, experiments ... and each one is indicated with the level of difficulty involved in its realization, so we can choose the easiest for the little ones. For example, we can observe the colors of the sun, the moon with a telescope or develop a weather calendar ...

It reminded me of the project of the European Space Agency for children, or the NASA website for children, which we also invite you to visit. And to the astronomy workshops for children of Educa-Ciencia, which we also talked about a while ago.

The web "Explore the universe" can be consulted, together with other languages, in Spanish, as the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) is an institution committed to UNAWE.

With a clear spirit of connection with all Hispanic countries, UNAWE invites all children to discover and enjoy the universe. Surely from surfing the web they see the sky with more curious eyes ... and will be looking forward to surfing it as astronauts.
