So far I can say that we have celebrated children's birthdays in very different ways, depending on the budget we had, the space and time we had. It is true that when they grow up they have expectations about “what their party will be like” that are not always met, for different reasons, but it is also true that when parents put effort and enthusiasm they are not normally disappointed.
I like it celebrate children's birthday at home, with all that that represents: prepare snacks, make the cake (and that goes well), think about the decoration, invitations and gifts (if any), have some proposals planned so that nobody gets bored, etc. Well, actually that is the easy part, because when everything is over you still have to pick up. Surprisingly this year at the party with the girl's friends I managed to organize everything without too much stress, I enjoyed the moment and it took very little time to clean (it must be that we already have practice).
It is true that when celebrating an anniversary away from home (cafeteria, local with games for children, etc.) we save many headaches, and I have tried this sometimes, but for me it is more personal and beautiful to receive the guests at home.
I would like to start giving you some ideas (and surely you have others that you can contribute) to celebrate the anniversaries of the kids at home, regardless of the space you have. We will talk about the invitations, the decoration, the snack, the cake, the games, the details ... of everything that is necessary for children and daddies to have a good time.
Do not think that you are limited to living in an apartment, since imagination is your ally, and on the other hand there are partial solutions such as celebrating it in that park that you have so close (between April and October it can be done, although you may have to ask permission at City Hall), or invite only the child's best friends and neighborhoods - which is neither more nor less what our parents did when we were little -.
It is clear that if one wants to invite all his classmates and we do not have enough space (read a villa with land to run) we can forget to celebrate it in a small house. But Not always the best birthday party is the one we wanted, since the children also know how to appreciate the efforts of the daddies, and they understand perfectly that things do not always go as they wish.
