Obese children, more prone to allergies

According to a recent study, Obese children are 26% more likely to have some type of allergy, especially to food. This association does not clarify whether obesity is the cause, but it does highlight the need for special care in the health of children and young people regarding adequate body weight.

This is an investigation carried out at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences of the United States for which the data of 4,000 children and young people aged 2 to 19 years were analyzed, including information on allergies and asthma.

The rate of food allergy was 59% higher in obese boys, a really high figure and that puts the alert on this widespread problem.

And we remember that obesity, one of the evils of our time in developed countries, not only causes physical problems, but also psychological problems, so we must not lower our guard against this problem.
