A mother removes milk for her seven-month-old baby while running a triathlon

Jaime Sloane is a 34-year-old Air Force sergeant who gave birth to his second baby seven months ago. A few days ago he participated in an Ironman 70.3 (also known as half ironman) in Tempe, Arizona, a medium distance triathlon race for which he prepared hard in recent months after becoming a mother.

He had already done the swimming test and the bicycle test, and he was thinking of stopping at the next change to extract the milk quietly, but seeing that he had a good time and was about to break his personal best, he decided to continue and milk out right there while running.

Using his hand pump and a towel, Jaime breast milk was extracted. He filled the bottle, put it in his camelback (a small backpack) and continued running the 13 miles he had left to finish the race. He ran with a full bottle throughout the tour, as there are very strict policies on giving or receiving items from a viewer.

The mother finished the race with a personal record of six hours and 12 minutes, a success she did not expect.

She trained hard in recent weeks with a two-year-old girl and a newborn to care for herself (her husband was traveling for several weeks), and also recently rejoined her work as a military.

It has been hard, but Jaime wants to show with his experience that people can do what they want.

"Anything is possible. I think it's great that there are other people who have seen this and who have been encouraged not only to do triathlons, but to continue the journey of breastfeeding or the journey they are in," he told People .
