Tell us your story: little Abby

Continuing with our stories of parents, today we have Maby's story, which tells how her little Abby came into the world at a delicate moment in her personal life, because, as she says, she became a single mom.

We remember both parents and moms who want to tell us their experiences that can send us their story to [email protected]. Unfortunately we cannot publish them all, but we select some to share with other readers. This is the story we bring today:

Hello, my name is Amabilia, they call me Maby and I want to share my story as a mom. On December 5, 2006 I discovered that I was pregnant, just 25 days after I finished with my partner. I got scared and cried like crazy, thank God the whole family took it well, except dad, who was very upset and 24 hours after knowing we were going to be parents, he let me know that I couldn't count on him. And so I became a single mom. I had a wonderful 8 month pregnancy, full of love, care and protection, but alone. It hurt, but I understood that nothing goes well by force, so I never looked for him again.
By the eighth month my little girl decided to know the outside world and was born, with certain complications. I was in labor for a week, since in the IGSS, Social Security in my country, they did not want to attend me, because I was barely 8 months old and after a check they sent me home. 8 days after that, June 21, 2007 My little Abby was born in a private hospital. On December 7, 2006 I had the first ultrasound and fell in love there. When I saw her that afternoon for the first time and then discovered what love is at first sight, from then until today I tell her daily that I love her and that it is the most beautiful and important thing that has happened to me in life. She is beautiful, restless, playful and very tender. Being a single mom is not easy, and I must confess that there are days when I feel weak, but when I see her smile, when she kisses me and calls me "mom," my strength is reborn and I understand that nothing is impossible. His strength gives me strength and his love makes me love everything around me. This is my host, that is the most love-filled story I know. She is about to turn one year old and although it has not been easy, we are well and very happy. She lets me know that there is nothing impossible for me. This is our adventure.
