Holidays with children: an adventure in the courtyard of the house

For some time now I have subscribed to an internet portal called momready (of which I already spoke to them on one occasion), which every day sends you to your email address some tip or advice for moms.

The note I received these days in relation to some holiday at home, I loved it and it seems like a great idea.

As Erit Siegel (who writes the note) says, going on a family vacation, sharing together and discovering exotic sites is wonderful but not always possible. Sometimes the necessary time and financial resources are not available.

Well, the idea of this mother who could not travel with her children on last summer vacations, since they had just finished covering the costs of remodeling their home, was to simulate with their children for a week at home that they were in Hawaii, That was the destination that the boys would have liked to visit on those vacations.

For a few days they pretended to be in Hawaii. In the courtyard of the house they had a pool that they used during the day and the mother served them meringues and juices decorated with small umbrellas and fruits, as drinks are served in some beach hotels. They had no obligation to make the bed and on the afternoon of the first day they went out to buy shirts with Hawaiian motifs and to eat in a restaurant with a Hawaii-style atmosphere. The second day after the pool they watched movies set in Hawaii and so every day they planned something different related to the destination.

According to Siegel, she and her children enjoyed the holidays to the fullest and what she once thought could be a silly game became a wonderful vacation to remember.

The story made me think about how important and easy it is to spend time and share with our children, and many times the whirlwind in which many of us live day to day with work and the obligations of the house make the holidays a tremendous opportunity. And not because we can't go to the beach or travel (or at least not be able to do it during all the holidays), we have to stop spending a unique and fun time with our children.

I work away from home and Rodrigo spends the mornings at school and the afternoon at Grandma's house and many times on weekends he says he does not want to leave, wants to be at home playing with his toys and enjoying being at home . It occurs to me that on this vacation, although we plan to go to the beach for a few days, I will reserve at least a few days to stay with him at home, play together as we do the weekend, paint, do craft projects together and even cook and be at your entire disposal.
