Nestlé withdraws infant milk from the market

Today it has been known that the company withdraws in Spain all batches of liquid milk Nidina 1, Nidina 2 and Nativa 2 as has already been done in Italy, France and Portugal as a precaution for contamination problems with the ink in the container.

According to the Spanish Food Safety Agency, all units have been removed, therefore, "Nestle's infant milk sold today in the Spanish market is safe." However, although Sanidad ensures that all production has been withdrawn in September, Nestlé makes the phone number 900 334 444 available to consumers and announces the immediate replacement of products with an expiration date equal to or before:

• NIDINA 1 liquid: expiration date, June 2006 • NIDINA 2 liquid: expiration date, August 2006 • NATIVA 2 liquid: expiration date, June 2006 According to a Nestlé spokesperson, "it is milk sold in pharmacies and that is has made in Spain. We have decided to withdraw the milk ourselves after the discovery, in a routine control, of very small presences within the milk of a chemical substance used in the ink ".

And he adds: "based on rigorous studies carried out by the packaging supplier and independent experts, the product offers no health risk"

The items that are currently being produced follow a different packaging process to prevent the ink from coming into contact with the milk.
