World Poetry Day: 7 books of poems to enjoy with our children

As is logical in our language, the word "poetry" comes from the Latin term "Poesis" which derives from a previous concept of Greek origin.
Poetry is the manifestation of beauty through the word, usually in verse.

And if we look with the eyes of a child, then we will see that beauty is filled with rhythm, creativity and fun. Today we bring you 7 books of poems to read and enjoy with our children .

Poetry is part of the education, expression and fun of our children that is why it is so important to keep it alive among their readings as they grow. They say we don't stop playing because we get old, but we get old because we stop playing; With poetry, we may not realize the same thing without realizing it.

Why stop reading poetry? Why do our children grow up? And that seems to us to be a logical reason? I do not believe it!

There are published great books and magnificent compilations loaded with rhymes that create poems that reach the heart, that of children and obviously ours, that of adults.
Today I propose to discover some and reread a few from their hand, from that of our children, so that when we lack imagination to understand them they help us and when they need reality to focus them we can help them. As a game, this is how we should feel when reading poetry with children, as if we were playing.

"Tales in verse for perverse children" by Roald Dahl

You can find it on Amazon with a very little perverse price of € 8.07 and surely more than one laughs with these versions and amusements of these well-known stories ...

And yet, from this story you have
a fake, pink, silly, cheesy, sugary version,
that someone with the windmill a bit stale
considered better for childhood ... ”

with stories "

Anthologies ... to never fail.

From Antonio Machado to Blas de Otero through Francisco de Quevedo and not forgetting Gerardo Diego, Federico García Lorca, Gabriela Mistral or Rosalía de Castro.
The anthologies of some of the best and greatest poets of our country and other countries, of our time and of other times, of our life and that of our children if we have the time, the desire and the intention to show them.

You have already been able to verify that this time we wanted to explore other poetic worlds beyond Gloria Fuertes, but that is not why you leave it in oblivion, because it will always be one of our children's favorites and with it you will discover great rhymes, great puns and magnificent riddles.
