Recipes for the whole family: Pomegranate salad, quince and sheep cheese, sepia black spaghetti and spice bread

One more week, like every Thursday, we bring you a new entry for our section of Recipes for the whole family with ideas for children to eat varied and homemade, taking advantage of the end of the holidays and that many will be with few ideas of what to cook now.

They are recipes made by our partners of Direct to the Palate and Vitónica and today we will have magnificent recipes of dish and some desserts to give a little variety to your menus.

Dish recipes

  • Duchess potatoes. Garnish Recipe: This recipe of duchess potatoes, of French origin, is a delicious and original way to serve this tuber as a garnish, very appropriate for these Christmas holidays. They can be prepared in advance (a couple of hours or three) and stored in the refrigerator until they are baked.

* Pomegranate, quince and sheep cheese salad: a recipe from chef Jaume Subirós. At this point I must confess that what I want most are salads and fresh dishes that lighten these days of excess. That is why taking advantage of the fact that this fruit is in season, I recommend the pomegranate salad, quince and fresh sheep cheese, full of contrasted flavors that makes it very appetizing.

  • Sepia black spaghetti with sardine Provencal: Like anchovies, sardines provide a fantastic flavor to sauces and dishes of this type. Black pasta like these spaghetti seems to me more suitable for recipes with a touch of the sea, and I think that a little chopped chilli would make even more tasty preparation that actually has little mystery.

  • Chicken breast with fine herb crust and Lombard sauce: The return to the routine is for many the reunion with the always helped chicken breast, but you must try not to be bland and boring. Spices and herbs help us to flavor and we can accompany it with many light sauces based on vegetables, better if they are colorful like the Lombard.

Desserts

  • Mini roscón bombón: What will this recipe have that hooks and causes it to be repeated every January 6? Of course, I try to introduce small variations, so this year I made this recipe for mini roscón bombón.

  • Chocolate and orange spice bread: Once we have entered the new year the rhythm of eaters slows down at home. In my family we only buy and bake Christmas sweets once before the holidays, so by now everything has almost been spent. But before putting my hands to the dough with the roscón I like to take the opportunity to bake the odd whim that returns me to my Central European ancestry, like this chocolate and orange spice bread.

  • Quick alhajú or alfajor recipe to say goodbye to Christmas: this small and aromatic sweet, which has nothing to do with the commercial, surprises and captivates everyone who tries it.

And that's all for today. Enjoy these recipes very much and do not forget that next Thursday we will return with more ideas for the dishes of the week.
