The "stolen" photo of a breastfeeding model ends up being the cover of 'Elle' magazine

In recent times we are witnessing a wave of young and famous women taking pictures with their breastfed babies. Personally, it seems magnificent to me, because it means spending time in which known women gave bottles, in an act that ended up being considered of people of high social status (and that began to be imitated by the rest of families because "yes they do that have money will be the best ") and those who breastfed were the poorest, those who had no money to buy artificial milk, to the point that it was said that" breastfeeding is gypsy ", a time in which the tables are changing, and now the example of the most visible and admired women is another, that of women who do not hide to breastfeed.

It is the case of Nicole Trunfio, an Australian top model known for being second in the contest Supermodel of the World and acclaimed by firms such as Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Versace and Dior, which is being news these days because a photo of him "stolen" breastfeeding his baby has ended up being the cover of the magazine 'Elle'.

A stolen photo?

Nicole was in a photo shoot for the magazine, which was to dedicate the cover of June to clothing and fashion for women and mothers. In the session her baby Zion was included to illustrate the image of a modern mother, well dressed and made up taking care of her baby in her arms (About the type of mother who wants to sell us we can talk another day, but it is clear, it is a fashion magazine and wants to reach even recent mothers). One of the photos of that session ended on the cover:

That? But it was not the other? Yes and no. This one that you have here is the cover that everyone sees in the magazine 'Elle', in Australia, if he is going to buy the magazine of the month of June from the kiosk. It happened that during the session little Zion woke up and let his mother know he was hungry. This, without hesitation, took out his chest and fed him. The photographer observed the scene and did not hesitate to take the opportunity to photograph them. The result? A photo that had not been planned that they considered could be made public in some way. As if to make it the cover of the magazine, neither was it, they chose to make two runs, one for the general public and one for the subscribers, with the photo of Nicole breastfeeding. It was a way of doing something special and in the end the cover of the magazine that those who were subscribed received has become much better known than the one everyone could see on the streets.

A message on Instagram

The model shared the image on her Instagram account (curiously she did not share the original) and took the opportunity to give her a voice. The photo accompanied some words that translate as follows:

There is nothing more powerful and beautiful than motherhood. The last thing I want to do is create controversy, so please take this for what it is. We are going to normalize breastfeeding because there is nothing worse than a mother who is judged for feeding her hungry child in public. I am very proud of this cover and what it represents. I obviously do not go like this while I am breastfeeding, but this is for all the women who are there, breastfeeding or not. We gave birth, we are women, we are mothers. Thanks to ELLE for being so brave and making such a motivating, positive and healthy post!

What do you think about the photo and what Elle has decided to raise it to the cover?
